Ok here's one most discover early .. turn off "read globals" channel in your main chat box. The globals channel is too busy and will push all other text out of the box much faster than you sometimes want.
Also.. if you need to repeat something you said recently you can press enter and then up arrow to cycle through your old statements.
Also.. you can highlight text and use control C and control V to copy and paste.

There is a way to create mouse clickable command buttons you can place on your screen. This will free you from the often cumbersome and slow keyboard hunting for your favorite action commands. You can also place tools and weapons directly onto your screen for mouse clicking ease of access.
Open edit panel (top left corner) and drag and drop and position any action buttons (out of your action library) and weapons and tools (out of your inventory) you want. Close the edit panel and they are ready to be activated with one easy mouse click.
To avoid mashing the same button over and over you can open your options and turn on "queue use tool action when reloading". This will queue your command and activate it once the current cycle is completed.

About managing your friend's list.. you can rename anyone. The default is simply the middle or "nickname" of the avatar. I like to add the first name.
The names are listed alphabetically so.. if you place a symbol in front of a name you effectively group that name with other names which are also preceded by that same symbol.
I place an * in front of soc members.. they are all grouped together at the top of my friend's list.
I place a + in front of traders I know. They likewise are all grouped together. A handy way to give you a heads up when someone special logs on.
If you want to add a soc member's name to your friend's list but are not near them or they are not currently logged on.. go to a society terminal and look up our soc member list and there you can click on the heart symbol of fellow soc members. Probably best to just FL those who you see are logging on regularly.

About vehicles.. every player should get themselves a low tt sleipnir early in their gaming career. Keep the action buttons "move up" and "move down" handy for mouse clicking on your screen. They make piloting much easier.
Vehicles have two forms of damage. tt damage and structural damage. tt damage cannot be repaired. Structural damage can be easily repaired and many people are happy to repair your structural damage for free.
Vehicles suffer tt damage primarily from attacks from large powerful mobs and pvp actions. Avoid tt damage always and keep your structural damage minimal and your low tt sleipnir will serve you well for a very long time.
There is no reason to buy a full tt sleipnir. You can obtain a low tt sleipnir for about 10 ped. Get one sooner rather than later.
